Professor Veronika Fikfak
Professor of Human Rights and International Law, University College London
Veronika Fikfak is Professor of Human Rights and International Law at the UCL School of Public Policy and co-Director of the UCL Institute for Human Rights. She leads the Human Rights Nudge (ERC Starting Grant) and Break the Bias (UKRI/ERC Consolidator Grant) projects, which study compliance with international human rights judgments, the remedies courts award, and who is able to reach human rights justice in the first place.
She holds academic positions at the iCourts Centre of Excellence, University of Copenhagen, and at the University of Oslo, and acts as judge ad hoc at the European Court of Human Rights. Her work combines legal analysis with large-scale empirical data on judgments, damages, submissions and the execution of judgments before international human rights courts and treaty bodies.
